This has the added benefit of accumulated search value for your entire website, potentially lifting your search engine ranking, allowing more customers to find you and increasing sales.

When you select one of our SEO services will will ask you to complete a form that will give us all of the information we require to get down to the nuts and bolts of optomising your images, website or other on-line assets.

  • How do I receive my image files?

Finished images will be delivered securely to you via Dropbox

Since it is problematic sending large amounts of high resolution files via email we use a popular cloud based service called Dropbox ( to check it out click here) to deliver your completed image files. The initial set-up is quick, easy and free. When you have used it once or twice you will think of many other uses for the service and wonder why you didn't already know about it (unless you did and then you will know what we mean).

When your photo's are ready we will send you an invoice, including a few thumbnails of your pictures. Once the invoice is paid we will email a link to access the secure Dropbox folder containing your finished image files to be downloaded.

  • How fast can I get my finished images?

How fast would you like them? We will do our best to work to your time-line.

Our turn-around times are fast. Depending on the quantity of items to be shot and processed and the service you have selected it would usually  be a matter of only 24-48 hours after a shoot is completed that your finished files will be ready for upload.

Please be aware that large amounts of image files can be slow to upload or download to and from the Internet.

We work on a first in, first served basis so please let us know if your project has a deadline when booking the job, so that we are able to schedule our resources and insure disappointment is avoided.

  • What file size and format will my product shots be?

However you would like them....pretty much.

We can provide you with finished files in your requested file type, dimensions and resolution up to the RAW file size of 6000x4000 pixels producing a 16 bit file at just under 24MB. However, cropped to a 1:1 format this is more likely to be a usable size of around 3000x3000 pixels. This is more than enough resolution for anything other than a highway billboard (If you want us to shoot for a billboard, we can - just let us know beforehand).

Often you will require your images in more than one format or size. Our CLASSIC and DELUXE services includes delivery of your pictures in up to three different file formats.

Perhaps you need high resolution images for traditional print media and lower resolution files for your E-store or you want the option to choose from rectangular and square formats for each product. Many clients like a TIFF master file, large (high res)Jpeg, and small (Low res) Jpeg files so that they have a file on hand to cover most uses.

As long as we are able to process the original RAW files into your required formats we are happy to do so.

We will discuss all of these requirements with you before proceeding with you product shoot.

For more details on file size and format have a read of our Photo Services page or contact us with your requirements.

  • What is the difference between your BASIC and CLASSIC services?

    I am glad you asked.....

In essence our BASIC service is for clients who are on a tight budget and require the best balance of quality and cost for their product images.

You will get beautiful, accurate and effective photos of your products without the final (time consuming) flourish of our CLASSIC service.

Here are all of the differences (CLASSIC service extras are in Red)

    Sample shots:

To take the guess work out of interpreting client requirements we offer a sample shot for each batch of products being photographed to ensure you will be delighted with the completed job. We will send through a sample file for verification before proceeding with the job.

For CLASSIC service clients we will include a sample shot of each product type where the set-up is changed enough to make a difference to the look or layout of the finished image. For instance if some of your product is boxed and some away from packaging we will include a sample of both styles for consideration and verification. We will also be happy to supply a couple of different style images for you to choose from before proceeding with the job.

    Basic image editing:

The difference between a snapshot and a professional photograph begins with the set-up and lighting of a shot but is most noticeable in the way an image is post processed. This is where your product is made to stand out and look it's best.

To keep costs as low as possible our basic image editing involves cropping, levels adjustment, colour balancing and appropriate sharpening in a batch process. Each individual image is them quality checked before being converted from the RAW or PSD file into your desired file format for delivery.

In addition to basic image editing our CLASSIC service includes advanced image manipulation including "Clipping" or removing your product from it's original background and placing it on a pure white or any other background required. This is the one key trick to maintaining a consistent and professional look to your on-line catalogue and making your product pop from the screen and say "LOOK AT ME!".

We will also clean up minor scratches, blemishes and remove any other undesirables from your products to insure that they are looking their absolute best.

Files in your required type and size:

All e-commerce or catalogue platforms will have a suggested file size, type, dimensions or other requirements to make your product look it's best in their system.  For example Ebay require a minimum of 500 pixels along the longest side of an image however suggest 1600 pixels is best. On some platforms 1600 px will result in a file size too large to upload.

To capture the most amount of detail in your product and speed up post processing we shoot all product shots in RAW file format then convert it to your required file type. To upload to an e-commerce platforms you will require a Jpeg or other compressed file format.

The other consideration to make is do you require a square image or a rectangle? If you require a rectangle, what ratio is needed (3:4, 5:7 etc), would you like a horizontal or vertical format and should the image be placed in the center, left, right, top or bottom of the frame?

Often you will require your images in more than one format or size. Our CLASSIC service includes delivery of your pictures in up to three different file formats.

    Volume discounts available:

For our CLASSIC clients we offer discounts for bulk jobs. Talk to us if you require more than 100 images in the same batch and we will discuss a deal.

Also, be aware that we can mix and match your BASIC and CLASSIC service shots as required. For instance, If you have products that will look fine with the simple treatment of our BASIC service and others that will look their best with a bit more refinement of our CLASSIC service then we will split the job accordingly.  Over a large volume of images this can save you a lot of money.

  • Can you take my kids portraits or photograph my wedding?

    No, No we can't!

Jackson's Camera is a specialist product photography service, we are more than happy to shoot your products in whatever situation you would like and we are also delighted to do general commercial photography for you while we are at it.

Head shots of your CEO or staff, photos of your premises or production process, a group shot of the team, absolutely no problem at all. We have a long history and experience of general photography and are happy to include that as part of a DELUXE service package.

However, we would rather be attacked by wild goats than work with children, pets or brides.

  • Can you shoot grouped products?

    Sure, no problem.

Due to the added time in setting up and processing grouped product images we would book these as part of a CLASSIC or DELUXE service only.

But remember that we can mix and match your BASIC and CLASSIC service shots as required. If you need individual shots and then a group shot of the same items, we would be able to price the individual shots as BASIC and just the group shot as CLASSIC. Over a large volume of images this can save you a lot of money.

Let us know what you require on our Job Form and we will accommodate it into our quote.

  • How can you produce high quality product images for as little as $10 each?

(Alright, so nobody has actually asked us this yet, but you are all thinking it)

Years of experience and thousands of product images.......is the short answer.

We have picked up a few tricks in our time shooting many thousands of products for e-retailers and we have distilled the process down to a finely tuned and efficient art.

Smooth practiced work-flows, batch processing, macros and intimate software knowledge means we are able to move mountains, quickly.

  • Who have you done work for? Can I see some examples?

    Now we are talking.
